10 Secrets Of A Stylist # 1: Go Monochromatic
If you have had this term and you do not know the meaning, it simply means: Wearing the same color. I bet you knew, only that the name might have pushed off guard a little. Bet you have probably done this a couple of times before. I think monochrome looks are the queen or king tips in looking Freaking stylish (Excuse my French). It reflects both style game A1 and Sexiness overload. Every time you are in your closet and you feel a bit lost or unsure on what to wear, Honey! rich for a monochromatic look. All Black, all grey, Hell all yellow even. Don’t believe try it out and see. Also check out my How to wear all black without looking like your going to a funeral post
10 Secrets Of A Stylist #2: Pair Dressy and Casual looks.
It not only gives you an element of pizzaz but also an interesting look. Try pairing sequins short with a white tee and some converse for a change. Or some ripped jeans and pair them with a blazer and complete the entire look by throwing in some cute pair of shoes and you have an effortless chic style on the go.
Dressy Shoes and Hats Paired with Leggings and white top
Secrets Of A Stylist #1: Mix and Match Tight and Loose Fittings
This look screams, ” Chic” and you can’t go wrong. From the TV reality stars like Jamie Chung, to run way models like Kendal Jenner and celebrities like Zoe Saldana have made appearance with such looks. The key is on balance… Go for a fitting tank top or a crop top and pair it with a palazzo, a maxi skirt or a boyfriend jeans. Vice versa can also work, go for a skinny jeans, ripped or not and pair it with a loose top or tee, Be it a boyfriend shirt, a crop top and a kimono or a baggy sweater.
Secrets Of A Stylist #4: Drape a Blazer or Jacket.
I wish I could have written that in caps. This is not only my-go-to but the most stylish tip ever! Every time you dress think of the 3-piece combination. Think a short, skirt or trouser for the bottom. A tank top, tee, shirt or bra-let for the top. And DON’T, I repeat DON’T leave the house without the 3 piece of the equation. This can be a blazer, a kimono, a jacket (biker, leather, or bomber) your choice. This time instead of wearing it arms in, think or dripping it over your shoulder and achieve the model off duty as seen by some celebrities jus to mention but a few: Cara Delavigne, Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner and Rosie Huntington Whiteley.
Secrets Of A Stylist #5: Accessories.
I am here by proclaiming myself as the accessories Queen Bee and Sal Bae combined. Go throw all my style posts, style bits and bobs and see if I haven’t talked about accessorizing. If you find a post without it, I will pay you. I promise. With that out-of-the-way. Accessories are key when you want to look stylish always! Before leaving the house make sure you accessories. It’s a definite must. Have a statement piece. This can be a hat, some sunglasses, a diamond ring or some killer heels. Remember to do this regardless of where you are going. Be it drinks with your girl friends, dinner with the ex, grocery shopping or picking the kids from soccer practice. You get the tea.Key point though, do not over do it. Look yourself in the mirror and leave one piece out as you head for the door. Go ahead, add some funk in the outfits.
Secrets Of A Stylist # 6: Layering.
The beauty about this tip is you already own this pieces. And no, layering isn’t just a winter thingy, you have been mislead. I will be writing a whole post dedicated into layering soon as I feel, it is a topic on its own. However I will give you a sneak tip into it. Don’t worry you won’t look bulky. Nobody wants that. The key goal is in the art of building a luxe look using multiple piece. This goes hand in hand with style tip number 4. The key to layering like a pro is picking a basic pic and build around it. It could be a tee, add up a leather jacket and a scarf or it could be some shorts, layer them with some stockings. Remember you are an Onion, A fashionable Onion, so keep layering goddamnit Ha!
Shorts: H & M
Secrets Of A Stylist # 7: Accentuate your body Parts.
This probably should have been the first in my list. But anyways. In order for people to find you stylish, you have to look both confident and fun. This is the only way you own any look. So go for the parts that you are mostly proud of, if you have killer legs, wear some mini skirt, a LBD or some shorts and turn heads. If you have a smaller torso or waist, crop tops are your best friends. If you have the perfect neck or shoulders, gravitate towards the off-shoulder trend. I believe everyone has something they are mostly proud of, go for that and show off what your mama gave you!
Secrets Of A Stylist # 8: Pop of Color.
A pop of color screams, fresh style. It brings awe, interest and impact in an outfit. Think a red blazer, some yellow pumps heck even turquoise. The style sky is the limit. Apart from looking stylish, this instantly makes you noticeable and memorable. Think about it, we have all tried to refer to a person at a party with the, ” the girl with red shoes” it’s because of the pop of color effect.
Secrets Of A Stylist #9: Switch to Heels, Ever so Often
This goes to those, who always hide from heels. I could swear, I have friends who would rather be tortured than wearing a pair of heels. Personally I can’t relate to that. I always gravitate towards heels. Whatever situation. In many times I can be the tall giraffe wearing heels in a group of friends with flats. I don’t mind, I enjoy being a tall noticeable giraffe. Flats are okay for the most part, and if you have to wear them, a little investment should go a long way to avoid the basic category. But ever so often try a ditch the converses, the gladiator sandals and add a pair of heels, it will instantly elevate your look. It can even work with sweat pants. Trust me. Heels are totally every girls best friend.
There a million and one tutorials on how to walk on heels. Here is what they have in common. If you can’t walk with stilettos, start small. Wear wedges, then chunky heels and in no time you will graduate to stilettos and the most stylish yet painful Christian Louboutin.
