Okay Back to Business,
Here again with a fashion segment post, I know you have been waiting on this since Fashionista’s Guide to styling a boyfriend Jeans Wow! That’s a long time!!). Anyways, Hash now, am back and I am taking it back to the 80’s Style. Yup, there is still some magic to channel from the 80’s. The 80’s was the decade of bold styles, colors and silhouettes. Looking back at my parents albums and the fashion they tried to pull out in the 80’s was in a word; insane. I feel like the 80’s was the era for experiments in the fashion industry. From your mother’s neon jazzercising clothes, to your little sister’s bright jelly shoes, dressing up in the ‘80s brought a wide range of styles.
Before we discuss; 80’s Style with a Classy Touch. it’s quite safe to say a few items have stood the test of time and even more are making their comeback in 2017. Don’t believe me, take the research to Instagram and search on any typical hipster page. You will definitely enjoy the ride back into the 80’s era. From the slogan Tees, Fanny packs, polished oversized blazers,,washed jean jeans and the man bun (which thankfully has replaced the man pony Ha!)
While I may not have recited everything from the 80’s era, am talking about the perm, mullets and the rat-tail hair. (Hence the title; 80’s Style with a Classy Touch) It’s however safe to say, I came pretty dang close. Ask anyone who has watched or attended an 80’s theme inspired party or has seen their parents photo album. I mean my mum’s first comment had been exactly that, when she saw me. It doesn’t get any closer guys, and its safe to say her comment inspired this post.
80’s Style with a Classy Touch
Ah! 80s fashion. Some might say no era’s style is as equally loved and hated as the period from 1980 to 1989. It was a time filled with leg-warmers, high-cut spandex, sequins galore, and lots and lots of neon. You’ve probably noticed there’s been a pretty heavy resurrection of ’80s fashion trends both on the runway and the street lately. It’s a risky look—but if you know how to interpret the style, it’s totally possible to pull it off without looking like you’re going to a costume party.
Have you been following me for a while?
I hope you have been an avid reader of MissKymmiee creatives for a while now, because I have self-proclaimed the love for my hats one too many times. Here is a quick hint as too why I love hats, Am I having a bad hair day? or am I just insanely stylish? I guess we will never know. However, I hope to God you opted for the latter. All jokes aside, I love hats because they are quite a bold accessory and I look dang good in them, if I do say so myself. The Red blazer was a no brainer, it went cohesively with the outfit and giving me just the right amount of boldness in my 80’s Style with a Classy Touch. I pulled the entire look with some Lacy white boyfriend Shoes (Thank you thrift gods!).
